On November 30th, Arcadyan was awarded the 2023 National Sustainable Development Award, presented by Premier Chien-jen Chen, with Vice President Raymond Hsiung accepted the award on behalf of Arcadyan.
The National Sustainable Development Award, organized by the National Council for Sustainable Development of the Executive Yuan in Taiwan, aims to recognize organizations' outstanding performance in sustainable development. Arcadyan's recognition stands out among numerous participating organizations, highlighting the national-level acknowledgment of Arcadyan's sustainable development strategies and achievements.
With the vision of "Create a Better Future through Networking," Arcadyan has developed three major sustainability pillars: Equilibrium, Prosperity & Inclusivity (EPI). These are further extended into eight dimensions, including Green Design, Sustainable Procurement, Climate Action, Integrity Governance, Labor Rights, Diversity and Inclusion, Rural Education, and Support for the Underprivileged. These initiatives align with Taiwan's Sustainable Development Goals and Taiwan’s Pathway to Net-Zero Emissions in 2050.
In response to global climate action, Arcadyan joined the SBTi (Science-Based Targets initiative) in 2022 to establish progressive carbon reduction goals. In recent years, the company has consistently strengthened sustainability in areas such as product design, raw material procurement, and manufacturing. This includes continuously increasing the application of Post-consumer Recycled (PCR) plastic in products, evaluating the use of bio-based materials with lower environmental impact, expanding the installation of solar energy systems in factories to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon business model, and purchasing renewable energy certificates to increase the proportion of renewable energy use. In addition to these actions, Arcadyan leverages its corporate sustainability influence, launching the "Go Green with Arcadyan" project in 2023. This initiative systematically assists supply chain partners in organizational level greenhouse gas and product carbon footprint inventories and reductions, leading the supply chain towards a green and low-carbon transformation.
2023 has been a fruitful year for Arcadyan in terms of sustainability achievements. Arcadyan received the "Top 100 Taiwanese Sustainable Corporates Award" and the "Corporate Sustainability Reporting Award - Silver Level" at the 2023 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards, as well as the recognition of the "Outstanding Product Award" at the 2023 Taiwan Circular Economy Awards."
